January
January was an eventful month for us. Jay and I were unable to spend our 9th anniversary together because I had to be up in SLC for another nutritional clinic for Talen. We also saw Dr. Muntz (ENT) to see about having Talen's adnoids removed. Dr. Muntz said that he would indeed need to have them taken out, so that was schedule for Feb 20th. We drove up to Idaho after seeing the doctors and spent the weekend with my parents. That Monday the 12th Talen had an appointment with Dr. Stotts (orthopedics). Dr. Stotts said that Talens legs look really good, he is very loose and so things are staying where the should. We need to get leg braces for Talen to sleep in so that his feet and legs stay in alignment. (We had him cast for the braces on the 20th.) After the visit with Dr. Stotts we spend the night at my good friend Tricia's house. That next morning, the 13th, we were supposed to see Dr. Swoboda (neurologist) and Dr. Lewelt (rehab specialist), but Dr. Swoboda was not able to be there. Dr. Lewelt wanted to put him on a new medication called Baclofen, so we will see how that goes. As soon as we were finished, we headed for home. It was a long week, but good to be able to schedule it so that we aren't making a million trips up north. On the 23th Jay and I celebrate our anniversary with our neighbors who also have the same anniversary. We just had dinner and went to a movie, but just getting out is good enough for me. On the 26th, Jenny had begged me to go running with her, and against my better judgement, I agreed. Normally, this wouldn't be any big deal, but that night I happened to get bitten on the "rear-end" by a German Shepherd. I think because I was dressed in white and Jenny was in black, I was easier to see so he came right at me. He didn't get me too bad, but it broke the skin so I had to go into the ER to have it cleaned and get a tetnus shot. I was more embarrassed that the doctors had to clean my "rear" than I was hurt by being bit. Humiliating!!!
