I swear, all I did was eat, sleep, and breathe fund raiser this month. However, there was time to slip in a couple doctor visits. Talen saw Dr. Rope (geneticist) again. He basically said that there is nothing he can do, all the tests have been run, and we don't need to see him again for 2-3 more years. I always hate when they say there is nothing more than they can do, but at least that is one less doctor for the next couple years. Kennedy had an appointment with the ENT doctor (Dr. Vaughan) and we have scheduled her adenoids and tonsils to be removed next month. The only other event was that we have started Talen's transition from TLC to Preschool. I don't know any specifics yet, but we have gotten most of the paperwork complete.

FUND RAISER

For the past month or so, I have been organizing a fund raiser to be able to send Talen to physical therapy at Now I Can. I never realized how much work it would be, but it was worth every stressful moment. I had so much help and so many people to thank for its success. We started the day with a yummy pancake, eggs, and sausage breakfast that was donated by Cory and Brian. After the breakfast, we had a little carnival with tons of games for the kids. We also had a silent auction booth and a bake sale (huge thanks to all the ward members for helping out). The majority of the money raised came from our helicopter ball drop (Jeremy Johnson donated and piloted the helicopter for us). We sold golf balls that we put into a helicopter and dropped into the Dixie Sun Bowl (Marcia Wade help to secure our location). There was a bulls-eye in the Sun Bowl and the ball closest to the center won $250 cash (which the winner, Lisa Peterson, donated back to Talen.) We had about 45 additional prizes for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. (the complete list of winners is located on Talen's website which is teamtalen.org) The only downfall was the weather. It was so stinking hot that we had to close up early. All in all, it was a huge success. We reached our goal of making enough money to send Talen to Now I Can for two sessions. I am not going to lie, I am thankful that it is over, but greatful for the opportunity to hold such an event. The whole thing would never have been possible without the generous and kind people of Washington and Oneida County. There are so many people to thank that if I start to name names this blog would never end. But, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all that has been done for me and my family and there are no words to express my gratitude!!!

1st Day of Kindergarten

Kennedy finally started Kindergarten. After three years of Preschool, she was so ready. I thought I was ready too, but I was surprised at how sad I was that she was going to school. I think it is just because that means that she is growing up so fast. Where did the time go? Anyway, she was ready for it. She goes in the afternoon and her teacher is Mrs. Quan. Kennedy was really excited because our neighbor Eden is in her class too.

Swimming

Wes and Talia had invited us to go swimming with them and since we had no plans we figured it was a good idea. Talen was not to happy about being there because he wanted a nap. So, he slept pretty much the whole time while the rest of us swam. I must say, lately, we have not been the best parents. I totally spaced putting sunscreen on Kennedy and she got as red as a tomato. I guess you live and learn, right?
