MAY 2018

Oh my heavens, I don't think I have had a month busier than this past May.  Between soccer, baseball, BMX, volleyball, Talen's IEP meeting, school ending, graduations (Amy's high school and Carter's Kindergarten), dentist appointments, young women activites, family reunion, Talen's massage and bath appointments, family coming and going, and a trip to Wet N Wild - I pray that summer is a nice break from the chaos that was May!  But with all the craziness going on this month, the one thing that I enjoyed the most was watching Carter get his first 1st place in BMX.  That kid sure loves to ride!  He is so good at it and I'm shocked that he hasn't gotten more 1st places, but I guess that's what happens when you are one of the smaller kids in your class.  So proud of my speedy little Carter Sauce (and so thankful that May is now over)!!!

Collins Family Reunion

After weeks and weeks of planning (mostly by Cathy), the Collins Family Reunion was finally here!  In attendance from our family was Mom, Shad's family, our family, and 3 from Jeremy's family.  They all stayed at our house except Mom.  Saturday we spent the morning sitting around visiting and the girls (minus myself) all went shopping.  At noon, we met up and the skating rink in Veyo where we skated our hearts out for 3 hours.  The kids all had a blast!!  We even let Talen take a lap around the rink, but he liked it so much that we had to stop before he started into the wiggles.  After skating we went to the Veyo park where we visited, played football, learned archery, visited, watched the kids on the playground, visited, ate a yummy dinner by Cory, visited more, and watched Jay throw Amber's youngest off the merry-go-round (hehehe - he didn't mean to, but it's just too easy to not tease him about splitting the lip of a 7 year old!).  Sunday we went over to Cathy's for a breakfast burrito and pancake breakfast again by Cory (he is the best cook ever!).  Several of us went to Sacrament meeting at Cathy's ward, then back to Cathy's for a mini-fireside by Sharon Smith (the wife of the current St. George Mission President and also the girl who Granpa Collins baptized).  After another yummy meal by Cory (roast and dutch oven potatoes) we played Collins family-related games and of course, May-I.  It was a fun filled weekend and it was so nice to see most of my cousins, aunts, uncles, etc from the Collins side.  It was a lot of work (again, mostly by Cathy), but it was successful and I hope to be able to do it again soon (well, maybe in 3 or 4 years, hehehe)  Oh, and I can't forget to mention that Carter quickly developed a little crush on his cute cousin Ryann.  Too bad they don't live closer, he loved playing with her!!

Kennedy finishes 8th grade

Given that Kennedy is over at the Middle School now, I don't really get a lot of pictures of her.  However, because she is such a great student, she certainly brings home a lot of certificates, awards, and letters from teachers.  Here are some of the ones that she remembered to give me.  And I couldn't forget her annual end-of-school extravaganza of getting picked up in an old school bus by her friend, Taylor Feilding's dad.  

Talen finishes 5th grade

Talen really didn't make it to very much school this past year because of his sicknesses.  But, here are a couple pictures that I was send of the few times that he was able to go and participate in school.  He just loves school so much.  Keeping our fingers crossed that next year is better than this last one. 

Daxton finishes 1st grade

Daxton did so good in 1st grade.  He learned so much and absolutely loved going to school.  His teacher was fantastic and Dax just loved her.  In fact, he keeps saying that he hopes that Carter gets Mrs. Brent when he is in 1st grade.  I wanted to save a couple pieces of his school work had a hard time deciding what to save because he had so many cute writings and drawings.  Here are just a few of the ones that I saved.  Oh, I guess I should also mention that because Dax is such a little smarty pants and scored so high on the Cogat Test, they want him to be in the Gifted and Talented class next year.  So proud of my smart boy!!
