Halloween

Even though Jay offered to stay home and hand out candy with Talen, Kennedy insisted that she do it.  So, Jay and I walked around the neighborhood with the two little boys and some neighborhood friends.  I was so shocked at how far the boys made it this year.  Last year we only did two cul-de-sacs and they were finished, but this year we did 6 or 7.  And of course, they were just thrilled about how much candy they made it home with.  I do have to say that I think that Daxon liked being the one to hand out candy even more than doing the trick or treating.  He would answer the door, hand out the candy, and say "Have a Happy Halloween" to all the trick-or-treaters.  It was so cute!!  Now if we can just get these kids to go to sleep after all that sugar!!!

Riverside Halloween Parade

Jay, Cathy, Carter, and I all went to the Elementary to watch Talen (Captain America) and Dax (Iron Man) go around the track for their Halloween parade.  I guess Talen was the man in charge because he was very start of the parade.  When he got to us he was a little wiggly and wouldn't look our direction, so we had to compromise by making him stop so I could get to the other side of the track to get a picture of him.  After Talen, they started off with the Kindergartners and worked their way up to 5th grade.  I was watching for Dax, but because he was more interested in giving high-5's to the other kids, he walked right past me and I didn't even see him.  So, I made a mad dash town the track to get ahead of him so that I could get a picture.  After Talen made his way around, they took him straight back to his classroom to take off his costume because he was totally sweating.  I picked up Dax from his classroom, then we walked down and grabbed Talen before heading home.  We just love Riverside, what a good school for our kids to attend!!

Carter's Preschool Halloween Parade

For Halloween, Carter's class all got to go to preschool in their costumes.  They had a party and activities all day at school then for the last 30 minutes, they had a halloween parade around the neighborhood block.  All the parents parked their cars around the block and let the kids Trunk-or-Treat.  When Carter saw me, he and two other friends took of running towards me (which got him in a little trouble with the teacher-oops!).  He sure loves his preschool class and we are so grateful for all that Mrs. Mary is teaching him.  Isn't he just the cutest Batman ever?!?

Good Friends

I just love that the boys have such good friends that live so close.  They wanted to go play at the Leavitt's house, but one of my rules is that they cannot cross the street without holding hands with an adult.  Since I was not going over with them, they decided to hold each other's hands.  So cute!!!

Daxton's Field Trip to the Children's Museum

When Daxton's teacher asked for help during their field trip to the Children's Museum, I jumped at the chance to go spend a day with my favorite 6 year old.  The kids just loved checking out all the exhibits!  Afterwards, we went over to the city library where we had story time and then to the park for lunch.  What a fun day spent with a fun kid!!

Oh my heck, this was the funniest thing ever!!  I had just posted on Instagram how proud I was of Kennedy for being so smart and getting fantastic grades.  I was bragging about how she is so creative, caring, artistic, beautiful, etc. . . . .  Then I turn around to say something to her and this is what I see!!  What a goofball!!  Don't ask me what in the world she was doing, but it was just too funny not to take a picture.  Of course, as soon as she realized that I noticed her, the mask came right off, but not soon enough - I got proof!!  Hehehe!!!

Fall Finale Volleyball Tournament

We were encouraging Kennedy to enter the St. George City Fall Finale Volleyball Tournament so that she could get in a little more practice before SUVA tryouts in November.  She asked several of her friends if they would be able to be her partner, but they all had plans.  So, I was her default.  Since she was playing with me, we had to enter the women's league instead of the youth league though.  There were 7 teams and we played one game to 30.  Our first game was our worst, but after that, we did pretty well.  We didn't win any (although we should have won at least 2 - just made silly mistakes) but considering that we have never played doubles together before, we were in the womens league, and I was the 2nd to oldest player, I would have to say that we did pretty good.  By the end, we were glad that we didn't win any because the top 4 teams advanced into the championships and we were both exhausted and ready to go home.  I have to admit, I loved every second of it.  I told Jay that I think I enjoyed playing with Kennedy more than she enjoyed playing with me, but that's ok I guess.  I am so glad that we were able to do it though because I don't ever recall being able to do anything like that with my mom.  So glad for the opportunity to share my love of the game with the girl I love the most!!
