We are still in quarantine/pandemic mode. I guess the good part about it is that we have been able to get lots of things fixed around the house. Jay took out our back door that was totally dry-rot and replaced it with a nice new painted door. It's gonna take me a little while to get used to the door without a window in it, but the windowless door was much cheaper and we are trying to save money since we are hoping to start building our new house soon.
I finished laying the artificial grass in the backyard and the boys helped put down and spread the silica sand.
Jay ordered the rock (way too much of it) for the firepit section and when it finally arrived we spent the whole afternoon shoveling it into buckets and throwing it over the wall into the backyard. It was a stinking hot day and it was lots of hard work, but we happen to have the best friends ever - Pat and Stuart McIver saw us working and came over and helped. Many hands make light work - well, not light, it was stinking heavy, but we appreciate the help nonetheless. I didn't realize until the end of the day how much I was using my leg to help lift the buckets up and over the wall. Check out those bruises!!
We have finally started to venture out a little more over this last month. Both Daxton and I had dentist appointments. Mine was just a check up and went fine. Dax had 2 cavities and we had both of them fixed during May. On the 5th we were able to get Talen tested to see if he had the antibodies for Covid-19. We thought that maybe his hospitalization in December might have been Covid since we never found out a reason for his sickness. We were crossing our fingers that it was Covid so that we wouldn't have to worry as much about Talen catching it, but sadly, that was not the case. On the 16th, Daxton's birthday bed finally arrived. So we spent the day putting it together and I immediately put Talen's old bed up for sale - well, not for sale because we gave it away for free, but it was gone within hours. Now Daxton's room looks so nice. (A little sad to see Talen's bed go, but now that he is in a hospital bed, there just isn't any reason to keep it.)
We started inviting my parents to participate in our Sunday services with us - through Facetime. So here is our weekly Sunday routine: wake up, watch "Don't Miss This", call Grandma & Grandpa and have someone give the lesson. It has been really nice because it lets the kids see some new faces and it helps to keep us connected with my parents who won't be able to visit for who knows how long!
That's it for May as far as our personal lives go. As far as the pandemic, I thought it might be interesting to keep the figures documented as this is a whole new thing that is happening. Anyway, here it is as of May 29th:

Utah had it's largest one-day increase of confirmed Covid-19 cases with 343 on Friday May 29th. More than 190,835 Utah residents have sought unemployment benefits since the week ending March 7th. On May 14th, most of Utah will shift from "orange" risk level to "yellow". People can now gather in groups of up to 50 people and all businesses can open across the state. Teams sports can resume as long as participants are checked for symptoms first.
