2018 Wet N Wild trip #2

I decided to make another quick trip down to Wet N Wild with the kids before the month was over.  We took Lauryn Syphus to keep Kennedy company and help with the boys (Jay was too busy with work to be able to come with us this time).  The kids all had a blast!!  I'm loving that Carter is now big enough to ride all but 2 of the rides.  We spent several hours there in the morning, ate lunch at the car, then back to the water for several more hours before finally being wiped out enough to call it quits and head home.  I'll admit, I'm getting a little tired of these trips down to Vegas, but the kids love it, so I will do it as long as they continue to enjoy it.  I sure do have a good couple kids.  (And thank you Cathy for watching Talen for me!!)

Lagoon with Jeremy's Family

To make the trade off to get Jeremy's boys back home, we decided to meet and spend the day at Lagoon.  We left Talen with Cathy and took off super early on Saturday the 9th .  We met Jeremy's family and my parents at the entrance to Lagoon.  We set up a little meeting area and let the kids run amok at the park.  We pretty much just let the bigger kids take off and do whatever rides they wanted while we took turns taking the littler kids on rides.  I asked the kids what their favorite rides and they had a hard time choosing one.  Carter said that he liked the roller coaster, Kennedy liked Cannibal, and Dax just loved them all.  I think my favorite part was Rattlesnake Rapids because we could all go together.  And of course, we all got soaked!!  The kids had so much fun and totally wore themselves out.  In fact, they were asleep in the car before we even made it out of the parking lot.  We spent the night at a hotel and drove home the next morning.  We had so much fun, we really need to do this every year!!  

Jeff & Blake Visit

Mid-May I found out that Karma's sister (Janet) was diagnosed with cancer.  She was also pregnant and because of the cancer, they would be taking the baby early and shortly after she would undergo a double mastectomy.  Because of the mastectomy, Karma and Jeremy would be taking the new baby while Janet recovered.  So, I quickly called Jeremy and begged him to let me take a couple of his kids to help ease their burden.  After several conversations, I finally convinced Karma to let me have Donelle for 1 week and Jeff & Blake for 2 weeks.  So, she quickly made the arrangements and the 3 kids were able to come down with Mom for the Collins Family Reunion.  

During the first week that I had the kids, we went to the reunion, went to the movie (The Lego Batman Movie), took a trip to Vegas to go to Wet N Wild (where Kennedy spotted Dan Reynolds, the lead singer for one of her favorite bands "Imagine Dragons"), and went out to Virgin to watch the boys ride BMX.  On the 31st, Mom and Donelle left to go back home.  

The second week we went swimming at Brooke's house twice, to the movie (Boss Baby), ate at the park for lunch (Mon-Thurs), got sno-cones at Hokulia, played at Thunder Junction (the All Abilities Park), ate glaciers from Frost Top, took Jeff to McDonalds for the first time ever, went out to the BMX track again, went to Laser Mania (4D movie, laser tag, and bumper cars), jumped all over House of Jump, and finally our trip to Lagoon.  The kids all had a blast and I am totally worn out!!  It was such a fun two weeks with only a couple time-outs for the boys.  I hope they enjoyed their little vacation to St. George and Jeremy & Karma enjoyed snuggling with their new little niece.  I think we might need to start a new tradition - summer in St. George with Shelly!!!
