On October 6th, I had my first "official" doctor's appointment for the new baby.  Everything looks good!! However, they changed my due date from April 5th to May 5th.  I think that he must have looked at the wrong month when calculating it before.  Oh well, I guess that just gives me more time to prepare.  Talen had an eye appointment with Dr. Gooch and everything still looks good!  The only other excited thing that happened this month was Scott's mission farewell on the 31st.  He is going to Seoul Korea and he leaves on November 17th.  Good Luck Scott!!!

Halloween

For Halloween this year, we borrowed a cute little spiderman outfit for Talen from the Adams's.  So, with a little convincing, Kennedy decided that she would be spidergirl.  What a cute couple of crime fighters!!!

Before trick-or-treating, we went over to the Brannon's for dinner (the Adams's and Caver's were there too).  My parents had come down for my cousin Scott's farewell, so we left them behind to hand out candy while we walked all the kids around the neighborhood.  Kennedy loved being able to trick-or-treat with her friends and Talen was just happy to be doing something other than watching movies. 

I didn't realize until after Talen was all bundled up, that without being able to actually see his spiderman costume, he just looked like Harry Potter.  Sorry Talen!! Oh well, he was still cute!!

Halloween Parade

Every Halloween the school has a parade so that the parents can go see all the kids in their costumes.  Since Kennedy is in 1st grade, this was her first year to be apart of it.  All the kids had a blast strutting their stuff for their parents and the other students.  My Kennedy was the cutest "Spider Girl" there!!

 Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Bosh (the witch).  Ironically, Mrs. Bosh is the nicest teacher ever, so her costume didn't fit her at all!

September 2010

On September 3rd, Kennedy was sick so I decided to take her into the doctor.  While I was there, I discretely asked the nurse if I could take a pregnancy test because I thought that I might be pregnant. (Jay and I had gone back and forth for over a year whether or not we should have another baby.  Finally we decided that we should just leave it up to the Lord and if He wanted us to have another one, then it would just happen.  Well, it came sooner than either of us expected!)  The test came back and I was definitely pregnant.  The hard part was to keep it quiet during the appointment so that Kennedy didn't catch what was going on.  So, when I got home, I decided that it would be best to wait to tell Jay until after he finished school for the day.  I knew that if I told him before he went to class that he wouldn't be able to concentrate at all.  So, when he got home, I asked him if he wanted to hear the lastest news.  He didn't have any idea I was talking about news about us.  So I told him!  After the shock set in, we decided that we would wait to tell anyone else until Kennedy's birthday.  We figured that she should be the first to know and what a better way than to find out as a birthday present!!
The rest of the month was pretty busy as well.  On the 9th, Talen, Kennedy, and I drove up to Primary's for another appointment with Talen's neurologist.  Dr. Sakonju wants to try to get Talen into a research program in Maryland.  The program is for people with very rare undiagnosed diseases.  I guess if we can get him in, then they will map out his DNA to see if they can figure out what it wrong with him.  The only problem is that there are thousands of applicants to get into the program and they only take about 100 patients a year.  So, we will cross our fingers!!  We stayed in Idaho through the weekend and on our way back home the next Wednesday we stopped in Ogden for Talen's reevaluation with the NACD program.  That went pretty well and they gave him a new program (which had very few changes from the first program).  The hardest part about the whole week was trying not to let my family know that I was totally sick because of the pregnancy.  (they later told me I did a great job, because no one had any idea!)
At the end of the month, we had to say good-bye to our good friends, the Wilson's.  Jon got a better job in Colorado, so after a good-bye ice cream social and a girls night out at Tuacahn, we bid our wonderful neighbors farewell.  We certainly will miss them!!

Kennedy is 7!!

This year we decided to do things a little different that we have the last couple years.  We didn't do the "movie friend" party, but Kennedy didn't seem to mind.  Instead, we only had one simple friend and family party.  And, since all our birthdays are so close together, KiKi wanted to try doughnuts instead of cake.  So, we invited everyone over for doughnuts and presents.  Kennedy had a great time being the center of attention as she opened her presents!  She got spoiled again!!  She got lots of toys, clothes, an Easy Bake oven and accessories, and best of all - a new sibling on the way.  We wrote this letter and wrapped it up as one of her presents. 

The best part was the shock on everyone's face, since no one knew we were even considering having another baby!!  What a great birthday surprise!!

Talen turns 4!!!

I can't believe my little boy is 4 already!!!  Since Talen's birthday fell on a Tuesday we had to celebrate it on Sunday because Jay's late school night is on Tuesday.  So, after church, we had everyone over for cake and ice cream.  Talen got several movies, toys, and clothes.  It was so cute because I had practiced having him hold up 4 fingers while I said, "I'm 4".  So, every time we did it, he laughed and laughed!!  He thought that it was just so funny!!  What a sweetheart!!

 

We asked Brooke to make him an Elmo cake.

Talen's favorite present this year was "Open Season 2" from Kennedy.
