The kids didn't have school on Friday the 6th, so I decided to head over to Cathy's for a visit. We figured that it was as good a time as any to let the girls color some Easter eggs. So, me, Kennedy, Cathy, Amy, and Amy's friend Olivia colored 3 dozen eggs.

MIRACLES CAN HAPPEN!!!
Over the past two years that we have had Talen enrolled in NACD, there have been multiple times when I have wondered if the countless hours of working and pushing are really making any difference. Well, today, I was given my answer!! I have been trying to give Talen a little more "tummy time" so I laid him down on the floor and started his movie. Before the show could even start, he started arching his back and acting like he wanted to get up. So, I started to put him into creep (this is the term NACD uses for being on all fours) and I noticed he was holding his arms all by himself. Not only that, but he was holding his head too!! He has never held his weight on is arms like this before!! I yelled at Jay to come look because I wasn't sure how long he would be able to hold it. Once Jay came and checked him out, I told him to grab the camera. We took a couple pictures and he was still holding strong!! So I told Jay to grab the video camera. We filmed for over 2 minutes before he got tired (but he had held it for at least 2 minutes before we started filming)!!
I know this may sound silly to someone else, but this small act of Talen's strength is nothing short of a miracle in my eyes. It really makes me realize how much we all take for granted. I am so thankful that we have been blessed with Talen to open our eyes to the many gifts that the Lord blesses us with on a daily basis. Six years ago I never would have thought that something as trivial as watching my son hold up his head would bring me to tears, but it has. I love this sweet little spirit so much!! I love that the Lord has enough faith in me that he blessed me with the opportunity to take care of him. And I can't go without recognizing the many, many faithful and supportive ward members and friends who have taken time out of their busy lives to come over every single day and help with Talen's exercises. I know that without their help Talen wouldn't be where he is now. Words can't express how blessed I feel to be surrounded by so much love and support!!

(I had to cut the video to only 1 minute so that it would load.)

March 2012
New month, new round of sickness. Talen is sick AGAIN!! Poor boy, will he ever stay healthy this year?? This time we got the added bonus of nose-bleeds. It was terrible!! At 3 in the morning, I heard Talen make a funny little sound, so I figured I better go in to check on him. I walk into the room and his is just covered in blood!! It was everywhere!! So in the wee hours of the morning we are changing sheets and giving him a sponge bath. I guess it was just the constant change in weather, but he got another nose bleed a day or two later. Thankfully I was nearby when this one hit, so I was able to contain the majority of it and we only ended up throwing away an one t-shirt. I have to say, this round of sickness really hit me hard. I can usually handle Talen getting sick fairly well, but this time, I found myself slightly over-stressed. There were a couple of times when I had had enough and just as I was about to throw my hands in the air, crawl up in the fetal position, and cry like a little baby, the Lord lets me know that he has my back. Every time I was at my breaking point, someone would call or text and say, "I've been thinking about you lately and wondering how you are doing" or "this song came on the radio and reminded me of you, so I figured I should give you a call." The Lord really does work in mysterious ways, and I am so thankful for friends and family that are able to act on promptings, because I really needed them this month!!
Talen got reevaluated with NACD on the 8th. I am really excited about the new program that he was given and hope that we will start to see some result, I guess only time will tell. On the 19th, I met with the principal of the Elementary, as well as special ed teachers and therapists that will be involved with Talen next year. I must admit, I am very nervous about sending him to Kindergarten. However, after the meeting I walked with the teacher down to the classroom and I feel much better now. (I am still nervous, but I don't think that will completely go away). But I am confident he will be in good hands!

Soccer
It's soccer time again! I forgot to take my camera to the first 3 games, so this is mid-season. Kennedy does pretty good, but we have found that she does much better with a little motivation. So, our deal is both Jay and I will each pay her $1 for every goal she makes. Grandpa Victor upped the ante and offered her $5 per goal. So for each goal she makes, she will be banking $7. Man, I really need to take up soccer - I could use the extra spending money, hehehe!!

Trampoline
The weather has been so nice lately that we decided to take the boys out for some fresh air. After some time on the swings, we decided to put them on the trampoline. Now, I know that the trampoline always has static electricity and can may your hair stand up a little, but who would have thought that their hair would have looked so silly. I guess it is time for haircuts!!!
