Kennedy went to Winter Formal

Kennedy's friend Karli Blackmore convinced her to ask a boy from Dixie (Beau McGiven) to go to Pineview's Winter Formal.  Kennedy had never met him before she asked, but Karli knew him and said he was really nice.  For the date they played Rock Band and made ginger bread houses.  Then they got all ready for the dance and took pictures.  However, for some reason they decided not to go to the dance and just hang out instead.  Kennedy said he was really nice, but this will probably be the last time we see him, hehehe.  I'm glad she is willing to try new things - even if it is to be set up on a blind date, sort of.  Oh, and she looked really pretty too!!

Visiting the old folks home with Dax

 Daxton's school had arranged for the entire 3rd grade class to go to the old folks home to deliver stockings to the elderly during Christmas time.  When they got there, each kid was paired up with an elderly person who they gave their stocking to and also read them a story.  All the kids were a little apprehensive at first, but once they started visiting with them, they seemed to have a good time. The lady that Dax got paired up with was so nice and very appreciative of Daxton spending time with her.  Daxton even told me afterwards that he really liked going to visit them.  I just love watching my kids do service for others - I just wish we were able to do stuff like this more often.  

Gingerbread Houses w/the Owen Family

 Continuing our tradition, we got together with the Owen Family to make gingerbread houses.  This year I decided to only buy 4 houses (one for each of the kids and one for Jay) since I spent most of my time helping the boys with theirs.  We left Talen home with Pat this year, so we didn't stay long.  In fact, after we got back home, they decided to decorate their houses even more, so we scattered the mess from the Owens' house to ours.  But, everyone had a good time and it's a fun tradition that I hope we keep for many years to come!!

NOVEMBER 2019

We started November by pulling Talen out of school.  With all the germs going around during flu season, we decided that it would be best to have him exposed to as few people as possible to try to eliminate any hospital visits.  

On the 8th, Talen had appointment with Hefflin (spine surgeon) and Stotts (leg doctor).  Both appointments went well.  Dr. Hefflin said that Talen's back looks freat and Dr Stotts said that Talen's legs are getting tight and we should think about having surgery to help, but it's not a necessity so we are going to postpone that for a while still.    

On the 12th, Dax and Carter had their SEP's.  Both boys are doing great and their teachers are pleased with them - I'm not surprised, I have such good smart kids!

On the 21st, Cathy gave us the supplies to do a little Thanksgiving activity.  We made pinecone turkeys!!  Even Kennedy joined in.  It was a cute little craft and the boys like doing something new.  

I decided to take the kids to the movie "Frozen 2" on the 23rd (Carter wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home).  We may not get to vacation like other families, but we have found fun ways to spend our time together!

Carter's 1st grade Thanksgiving Feast

 I volunteered to go help at Carter's Thanksgiving Feast.  The set out the tables in the cafeteria and let the kids try all the different Thanksgiving foods like turkey, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, etc.  It was fun to watch Carter be with his classmates - he is such a goofball.  And it was nice to finally put a face to some of the names he is always talking about - especially the girls that he has crushes on.

It makes my mama heart feel so good when I see the boys bring home stuff like this.  Daxton was asked to write a paper (I'm not exactly sure what the assignment was) and he chose to write it on his little brother.  I just love that these two have each other!!

I'm very proud for my brother for having my back and other things.  My little brother cuddles me.  Carter cuddles me at night becaussee I'm scared of the dark if I'm alone.  My little brother is fun to play with.  I play board games or go outside and play with Carter if I can't play with friends.  My little brother loves to share with me.  Carter always shares with me because he knows I like to so he will let me try it.  And that's why I'm proud of my little brother.
