August started with us getting a brand new nephew. Ian Alexander Shepherd was born on the 13th, only 8 days late!! Already a little stinker . . . good thing he is cute!! On the 20th we took Daxton in for his yearly doctor's appointment (yep we were late too, only by 4 months though, hehehe) Dr. Thompson said Dax looked great and since he was all caught up on his shots, it was a pretty easy visit. He is topping the scales at 35 pounds 8 ounces, only 8 ounces away from Talen!! On the 26th, Talen saw Dr. Such-Neibar for a follow-up. The last time we saw her, she started Talen on the Clonazepam. So, I gave her the update on his hospital visit, our adjustment of the medication, and how everything is going in general. She was thrilled to hear that the meds are working great for him. I also talked to her about inducing puberty. If we decided to induce puberty early on Talen, it will help to keep his body smaller so that he will be more manageable as he gets older. But after hearing that it would mean daily injections for at least one year, possibly two, we are re-thinking it. However, he still has a little while before we need to decided anything, so that's good!
